Vacatures

Expert in Human Factors and Simulation

You will work on the EU Horizon 2020 project on Human behavioral models, and contribute to the topics of human factors and simulation within the department of TI. The majority of the work is to support the TI department experts in the i4Driving project (https://i4driving.eu/) which RDW is a part of. The project aims to establish a credible and realistic human road safety baseline to use as a benchmark for the safety of autonomous driving systems.  The two central ideas of the project are building a simulation library that combines existing and new models for human driving behavior and developing an innovative cross-disciplinary methodology to account for the huge uncertainty in both human behaviors and use case circumstances.  RDW contributes throughout the entire project, from the definition of the human factors requirements to include in the model until the validation of the model against relevant use cases as well as the dissemination of the results. In particular RDW will execute two simulation experiments to assess the capability of a generic ADS against the human behavioral model and to assess the Human Machine Interaction by integrating the human behavioral model with a generic L3 ADS system. Your main tasks within the project will be: •    Contribution to Human Factor requirement definition  •    Contribution to human behavioral models development •    Contribution to verification & validation of the models  •    Contribution to evaluation of the model with use case  In particular, you shall be able to develop the simulated environment in which both the individual models and the integrated models can by run in the predefined scenarios and execute an experiment. You should also be able to understand the outcomes and make analysis of the same. The other part of the work  is to actively participate in and contribute to the various innovation topics within the TI department. This includes e.g. contributing to regulations, implementation and involvement in the applied innovation knowledge agenda where various topics are currently getting addressed which include simulation, human factors, AI and communication & connectivity. These  topics are executed in collaboration with various mobility industry experts and research institutes and universities.
